ATTI News - October, 2025

Dear ATTI friends and supporters,
Welcome to the first official ATTI newsletter! Thank you for subscribing.
Following the successful launch of ATTI during London Climate Action Week in June, we have been busy advancing work in our two pilot countries, Bangladesh and Türkiye.
We are pleased to share the following updates.
ATTI Türkiye
In October, we held the inaugural ATTI Türkiye Working Group meeting. The session was co-led by ATTI and İHKİB, with participation from the Turkish Textile Employers’ Union (TTEA), five brands – Bestseller, H&M, Inditex, PVH, and Varner – and representatives from the Ministry of Trade.
The agenda focused on Türkiye’s new Climate Law, introduced in 2025, and the challenges of integrating solar energy into Türkiye’s national grid. The Working Group is now collaborating on follow-up actions and will keep you informed of our progress.
ATTI Bangladesh
We are delighted to announce that the ATTI Bangladesh Chapter, led by BGMEA and BKMEA, has appointed Engineering Resources International (ERI) to deliver the ATTI Bangladesh Needs Assessment.
ERI is a leading Bangladeshi sustainability consultancy, operating across Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan. The objective of the needs assessment is to identify high-priority areas for action and collaboration to support industry transformation. Work will begin in the coming weeks, with a findings meeting expected to take place in Dhaka in early 2026.
ATTI at the IAF and ITMF Annual Convention
The International Apparel Federation (IAF) and the International Textile Manufacturers’ Federation (ITMF) are holding their Annual Convention in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from 24–25 October 2025.
ATTI is delighted to join the Decarbonisation Panel, which will explore a range of global initiatives advancing climate action in the apparel and textile sector.
The panel will open with a spotlight on the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action, represented by co-chairs Matthew Guenther (TAL Apparel, Hong Kong) and Stefan Seidel (PUMA, Germany).
It will then turn to the Apparel and Textile Transformation Initiative (ATTI). ATTI will be represented by Mr. Mehmet Kaya (İHKİB, Türkiye) and Ms. Vidiya Khan (BGMEA, Bangladesh), who are leading their associations’ pioneering engagement with ATTI, joined by Olivia Windham Stewart, ATTI lead for IAF and ITMF.
The panel will conclude with Ivy Decarb, a practical solution that lowers financing barriers to decarbonisation in the apparel and textile supply chain, represented by Javier Bernal.
If you happen to be in the neighbourhood and would like to join, please register today.
Many thanks again for subscribing to the ATTI newsletter. We look forward to keeping you update on our progress.
Warmest wishes,
The ATTI Team
